As decommissioning and land remediation works accelerate and as sensor technology evolves, waste assessment processes are becoming more dynamic. Waste from active plant rooms can now be assessed comprehensively in situ and screening techniques can be developed to segregate waste at the point of removal.

The volumes and disposal costs of wastes that would be generated without pragmatic screening techniques could be prohibitive and sometimes even catastophic to the project. Therefore, we believe it is important to develop the assessment process at the post-operations cleanup planning stage or decommissioning strategy planning stage. However, we can offer recovery solutions for accelerated decommissioning projects.

RITE Advice can develop waste assessment (e.g. WAC analysis) and screening systems across the entire range of waste classifications; SOLA (or Exempt), VLLW, LLW, ILW, HLW and now HVLA (High Volume Low Activity). Our systems can also be designed to ensure homogeneity and detect accidental dilution practices by third parties.
